What I've been doing
I finally have my camera stuff together. This includes the camera it self and the USB cord Yay!!! So no I can post pictures of what I've been working on. My friend Taryn has made me a part of her thesis and is planing to have an art show in April including herself, me and two other artist; Fatimah and Corrine. It's going to be awesome! I want to have at least four pieces in the show. This is a piece I'm working on now but I'm nowhere close to done. My plans is for it to be a huge scroll and I think I underestimated the time it took to actually dye the paper, draw on each one and then sew them together. I takes me 3 hours just to make 50 leaves and then about the same time to sew them together, soooo I have a lot to do but I love what I have so far.

Overcoming...well a lot
The year has just started and already I feel like this is going to be a life changing year for me. Of course the majority of your time here on earth is "life changing," but I feel like this year is the year when I will do the most growing and I'm talking about conscious growth. Everyday of this year I have been very aware of the pieces being put in place for me to succeed not only in my art but in my personal relationships with others. Everyday the universe throws me a bone I guess you can say. I have more optimism and just overall lightness about my life right now. It's kind of hard to explain, it's better felt down in my belly, but in essence I just really, really love life right now.
Oh and I recommend this blog, I don't read it regularly but when I return I'm always delighted at what he has written. Very relate able.

The heart is more powerful than the mind.
For me learning to communicate with my heart is one of the more difficult things for me to do. I am very analytical by nature and sometimes I can't help but to take everything apart and analyze it down to its basic function and form. I wonder if its out of my own being or if its what our culture encourages us to do. Although most of this sound kind of depressing, I think its a beautiful thing for me to be even able to realize it and want to better myself. I left conversations wondering if I REALLY heard a person and if I connected with them on something other than just basic human day-to-day interaction. It's important to me to understand where people are coming from because it just makes it easier to understand that they're not so different than me. Everyday now I'm trying to live more with my heart than my brain. It's scary yes but I think it's time to shake things up.

No more internet : (
Our stolen internet that worked so well has now picked up and moved from our apartment complex so now my only option is to use the internet when I'm at school. Sigh :( well all good things can't last forever...but while doing my usual artist search on the web I came across these:

This artist Gulnur Ozdaglar makes bowls, light fixtures and jewelry out of plastic bottles. I want one sooooo bad! You can see more pieces here

D.I.Y
I would like to think that I'm a crafty person, so when I found this website, Design Sponge, I was excited to see that they had a do it yourself section on the blog. They had really quirky ideas and a lot of Eco-friendly designs like using a plastic bag to make pom pom bows to put on your presents or this cool illuminated canvas

I like bird imagery for som reason, I think it's because I wish I was a bird. I like these collaages done by Mary Emma Hawthorne and these cute illustrations by Kate Wilson, whose drawings just make me all warm inside :)
